Pauline's rim is quilted. The white freshwater button pearl of 7-8mm sits in a domed bezel whose surface is worked in a honeycomb pattern, so the metal around the pearl has the texture of a padded jacket or a woven basket. There are no stones; the pattern does the work.
The stud is only a little wider than the pearl, flat on the lobe and right for any hairstyle. It closes with a push-back post and butterfly back and comes in a gold finish (18K gold-plated 925 sterling silver) or a silver finish (925 sterling silver).
